Ice Painting

~ @27 months ~

We are doing ICE PAINTING!!!!

Here is another round of ice painting.  It’s messy with water dripping all over but Sweet Butterfly was ecstatic over it.  Another activity which ended in tears when it was time to stop.

Supply
  1. Popsicle tray (Japan home @$2.90.  I love the fact that the popsicle tray comes in the exact colours of our paints.  Red, Blue, Green, Yellow.  I didn’t like the silicon ones from Diaso)
  2. Mix water and paint
Directions
  1. Freeze it!
Learn
  1. Colour
  2. Colour mixing
  3. Cold, warm, melt

She touched it and was so happy that it was ‘cold, cold’.  Even gave a pretend shiver.  Cute!

and painted.  Talked about how the ice melt and I explained why.  And did colour mixing since she already knew her colours (learned via all our painting activities).

Lined the popsicle.  It got really messy with water dripping all over the floor.

Super ecstatic.  We painted 5 drawing papers and I decided it was enough.  That’s when the tears came.  My lesson learnt: Do not fill to the beam of the tray.  It would be easier to stop the activity by saying ‘No more'!’  Also, the paints would not be too watery.
